Metamorphosis

After months and months of absence, I have made my appearance now, and I hope I will be here more frequently.. May the Providence bless me with ideas, so that I can upload something in a more frequent manner.

After 2 years or so, Les Miserables still never fails to amuse me. I'm currently re-reading the book, and although it's my second time reading it, it's still exciting and interesting to read. I was thinking about how Valjean began as your typical poverty-stricken peasant, then he developed to be a vengeful and hateful person in the galleys, and when he was on parole and met the bishop, he transforms again to a fully different person. I thought about this metamorphosis, and tried to draw it. Fortunately, this time, my skills are sufficient enough to make it look quite similar to what I have on mind !

Contrary to how I usually present my drawings, I had to add a background this time because a blank, white background seems to be... very bland. I spent quite a bit looking for a stock image that I can use, so I thank for providing the image ^^. Now we only have to bear my dreadful Photoshop skills.
<EDIT> The hideousness of my photoshopping skills convinced me that I should keep it blank after all.
